Just got back and I've gotta say this movie is awesome. Very possibly one of the best movies all year. I don't like reviews so I'll just leave it at that. Go see it!

i might have to see it.....our city paper did an article on the last samurai, return of the king, that new movie(something about ships and the sea or something) and another action movie....the last samurai got terrible reviews but reading this i might have to see it :up2someth

it was ok - the girl i took to see it fell asleep...

AND - i don't think it'll touch lord of the rings..

Oh, he's right of course. LOTR is simply the greatest story ever told (the books, I mean). Peter Jackson has done a remarkable job adapting the story to the films, and as a result he has produced some of the finest cinema in a generation - perhaps in history.

I totally agree about the Lord of the Ring movies. The first time I saw the first movie I was litterally awe struck. But....Return of the King is not out yet so I still stand by the Last Samurai being the best movie of the year, so far.

Meh, Lord of the Rings was alright, loved the first one, thought the second was ok, I read the Hobbit and the first book. Great job converting it to film though, jsut a little too long for movie with no conclusive ending until the last one. At least each Star Wars movie has a definate ending to each one and still continues witht he saga, not the same case with lord of the rings

but it keeps you watching the whole trilogy......you dont' know how it's going to end unless you do......i personally love the two that are out and have tickets for the 12:01 show of return of the king :happybirt
