Were you turning left across a street though? If so, in most cases, the other dude has the right of way unfortunately enough.

And don't bother with the ABS thing in court; I asked my lawyer about that when some pole-smoking cop cited me recently with reckless driving and put on the complaint "Squealed his tires coming to a stop..." I have 4-wheel ABS, and good tires, but most judges apparently rely on "Expert Testimony" instead of common sense when it comes to automotive science/engineering.

You wonder why so many cops are murdered each year. Doing stupid stuff like that is rediculus. As far as police go im not a big fan.
