All of you guys bashing the RSD, have you heard them in a proper install at all? I would think Towncar has more experience than the both of you with different woofers and installs.
I may be mistaken but is this criticism coming from your butt hurt selves that a 100 dollar woofer can somewhat compare to a $400 one? Ive heard and Idmax and Rsd by now in both equally quality installs and i would have to say the max just a tad better, or perhaps it was just me playing tricks on my mind, refusing to believe a woofer 1/4 price of another can compare.

X2, Towncar is a good guy he wouldn't steer you wrong. The fact is price v/s performance the RSD is hard matched. I'm not going on personal experience I'm going on what reputable people have said and said again. Something that us consumers have to lean towards when buying online.

You guys are all getting it twisted, the story was never about rsd being a bad driver but, the rsd being as good as the two mentioned befor it. It is pretty good for what it price for but, "still" not as good or nor do they really copare. Reptuable?? just because you read a great review from a Pg forum or tech doesn't make it true> you think he'll say something bad about the driver?

No actually I'm basing it more on someone that I know and know their listening habits and has extensive use with not only those 2 drivers and many more. Anyway I just felt like posting some worthless posts no pun intended.

None taken but, in "cost" wise look at it this way, it's like buying between Q and a Mag, do you think the performance between the two is worth the extra $? who knows. Imo that almost all of the parts of a Idmax is custom made to create the woofer and I don't think the is cheap.

all about the money. The drivers shouldnt even be argued about. You could get one Max or 2 RSD's and have an extra $250 towards your front stage or something. With 2 RSD's you shouldnt be disappointed with output and spend the money on SQ where it counts.

At some point, the law of diminishing returns kicks in. Will a $500 sub be 'twice' as good as a $250 sub? Twice as loud, sound twice as good, etc etc? No, it will not. That's why I have to laugh sometimes when I see so many people bicker over such small issues (the minute differences in SQ between 2 BL optimized subs for example).

IMO last year when that PG sub was so cheap (uhm... Ti elite?) that was a helluva deal (around $100 ea). The Oz Matrix Elite is another sub with similar specs/performance/design to the IDMax, yet isn't quite at its level, nor price. *shrug* This happens when you start breaking down the cost for virtually every 'supersub' on the market. Get use to it guys, when we need to buy the 'best', we are not getting the best bang for our bucks.

If I were poor, Id buy the RSD's (probably). If I weren't poor, but couldn't afford Max's, Id buy Matrix Elites (probably). If I had the money, Id shell out for Maxs (probably). Im considering selling my 2 XXX's and replacing them with 4 IDMax's. Cost effective? Hell no! LMAO! But highly satisfying none the less?
