The Dreaded Engine Noise

Well, finally it's here to bother me as well...

Until now, there was no engine whine that varied with RPM... After I disconnected and reconnected the speaker cables on the amp, I can clearly hear engine whining from the rear speakers. Front speakers are fine. It's just the rear speakers...

It feels like I have a turbocharged car now, which sounds good, but when volume level is low, it's annoying.

Also note that when volume level is at 00 it disappears. When HU is playing at 01 or above and I press Mute, it doesn't. Only setting volume to 00 and turning off the HU makes the whining disappear.

What could be the cause? (Yes I have read the sticky thread, but still...)

pioneer deck huh

This isn't a Pioneer problem. Their decks have Engine Noise at all times. Even when the volume is at 0.

It's a bad ground. Make sure all your grounds are good. Also, if you're running another set of RCA's for your rears, make sure that the RCA is in all the way.

Well it's a pioneer hu but i don't think that's the problem... I'm running one set of RCAs to my kicker amp and then another one from the kicker to my hertz amp. I guess I'll have to have my grounds checked... I don't know what to check...

i'm having this problem too. Should i check the back of the HU and see if the rca's are plugged in secure back there? Or should i just check the ground, maybe there is some paint or something in the way
