In ported enclosures:

say u have a box, tuned to 30hz.

Now, the bigger u make that box, esentially the less power it will take to get it louder, and the output in the bigger box will be higher.

In a smaller box, it will take take more power compared to the larger box to get it louder, and the output in the smaller box will be lower, at the same power level as in the bigger box.

how is it informative. there realy isnt much info. so if u had a 2.5 cu ft box tune to 34Hz and i had a 2 cu ft box tune to 42Hz wich is louder. yes the bigger the box the less power u need to reach a subs Xmax therefor make the sub "more efficient". also when it comes to sealed the generly the smaller the box the louder it gets, but at the cost of SQ and obviously need more power to reach its Xmax

NO THATS "informative"

basicly

(4 arguments sake)

if u have a 2 cube ported box tuned at 30hz....and u have another box that 3cubes tuned to 30hz

and both boxes are getting the same power..the 2cube box will be loud

but the 3cube box will have slightly more low end authority than the 2cube box
