If you pick the right Subaru you get a McIntosh HU.

The wrong Subaru aka 2011 WRX system sounds like AzZ...literally his speakers flap like an old vajeeena and sound like butthole at the same time. You'd think for the amount of money he paid for the car the speakers would be Decent (my 01 stock explorer speakers sound better)

on a side note, I find that a lot of stock systems sound like b-hole because of how people tune them aka OMGZ BASS +10 TREBEL +10 VOLUME TO DA MAXXXXXXX! I can tune my sister's stock G6 sound system to a reasonably sounding level (it's no sq system but it can hit everything and sound decent), but the next time I drive it she has managed to "button mash" the shiit out of sounding good

My mom's Toyota FJ Cruiser has the optional sub and tweets, sounds great, very balanced system.

It's amazing how ****** of speakers they put in for "premium" systems... like, they could literally spend $200-$300 bucks on front comps and rear coaxes, and have something so much better than the "19 speaker premium" system they waste so much time and space on.

My friend's new Ford Fusion has decent bass. I'm hoping it has a sub or something cus it does get pretty loud, nothing very clean though. Most bearable stock system I've heard though.

My wife's new Jeep GC sounded pretty good stock. Just needed an aftermarket sub to fill in the low end.

I'll throw it out there, although I know some people hate them. The Mach 460 and 1000 sound systems are pretty good for a stock stereo and unlike some systems they're actually set up ok in terms of amplification and speaker placement.

Spent a few hrs driving a 2011 Lexus GS350 w the Mark Levinson system, sound was very good for factory I would bet was more accurate and balanced than most aftermarket systems probably not loud enough for most.
