The 2005 NBA season

Hey it may be funny. But that is my list and I am sticking with it. I usually go for underdogs and my home team. I think Cleveland has one of the best starting lineups in Basketball today next to the spurs.
I don't think their starting lineup is all that impressive, if they do anything in the playoffs it will be with their depth. Eric Snow can't play a lick of offense, you never know what you'll get with Drew Gooden, Z is terribly immobile and plays horrendous defense (also has a tendency to get in foul trouble early), and we have no idea what to expect from Larry Hughes. He's never been a particularly great outside shooter, he's going to have to control himself and focus on attacking the basket more.

Personally I'd rather see Marshall start, he's more consistent and versatile, but I know Gooden would revert to his old ways of playing like utter *** if he only gets 20 minutes off the bench.

I dont know about that. I think with LaBron and Hughes is a very dangerous duo. Lebron was over 27 a game and 5 *** last year and huges averaged 22 a game. I think if they dont let there heads get to big they will be very dangerous. Snow is starting at point guard for now. Eventually they will start damon Jones there. I think he has more offense, can also spread out the ball more. I could care how immoblie Z is as he is a big body. There are very few 7-2 guys who are fast. He will get his 12 points a game and close to 8-10 boards a game if he stays healthy. Gooden is decent. I dont think he gets enough credit when boozer went to Utah. He is a big guy and can post up with about anyone. He can break out into really good games. He wont be as important this year though with them getting Huges. I think they are very stacked in depth and should do well this year. We will see though.

i still say spurs and pistons. the pacers imo are detroit's greatest threat. :
Agreed.

i also remember a lakers team that was so great that had shaq, kobe, karl malone, and gary payton that got killed in the finals.
They sure did. Would have been a sweep had Kobe missed that 3 point prayer.

the pistons still have the same core that got them to the finals twice, and hopefully delfino will stay healthy and contribute off the bench and darko can develop more into a useable player off the bench. also look for rasheed to have a better year and tayshaun prince to improve even more from last year. i guess since the pistons don't have superstars they were just waiting for them too loose so they can say i told ya so and write them off the next season.
Don't forget Dale Davis. He will be a good lift off the bench and he will be 6 more fouls to use.

i still don't think the pistons will beat the spurs though :crap
I wouldn't write them off just yet. Both teams will have to make it there for one thing and that is NOT an easy feat in itself. But once the finals begin its anyone's game to win because anything can happen. Eveyone said the Pistons were done in 5 but it went 7. Its a long season and whatever team stays the freshest and healthiest in the end will be crowned the champ.

I see both Hughes' and James' numbers going down. Lebrons will go down simply because he wont be playing 48 minutes a game, he was around 24 last year until he started playing every single minute. Hughes only has one really solid year under his belt, still struggles with shot selection, and his whole game got exposed in the playoffs. I'll be happy if he averages 15 @ like a 45% clip.

If the first 2 games are any indication, Eric Snow needs to come off the bench starting now. Dude does absolutely nothing on offense, and he can't keep up with quick point guards. All this talk about him being a great defender seems to be based on his past, because last year and so far this season he's not doing that much.

And the biggest problem I had with Gooden last year was his attitude. If he started off a game playing well and made some buckets, he'd have a great game. But if he started off poor or got in foul trouble it was a wrap, and he'd play terrible. He just needs to focus on what he has to do during the current play and ignore what just took place.

iceteebone, me and you both know that the celtics will be taking it tonight. haha.

82-81. richard hamilton game winning shot. didn't think bostob would put up such a fight.

i also forgot about mydyess of the bench. hopefully dale davis will be able to play shaq as well as elden campbell did.

If Shaq is even healthy for the playoffs. Every year he's playing less and less. His agilitly is pretty much gone. He almost never gets up the floor in a timely manner. If it wasn't for his size he wouldn't even have made the roster.

Wow did you happen to even see his stats last year when he did play? That was with wade too. I dont know what your talking about but Shaq will still have a good season and I am sure Miami will be there at the end of the year.

About Cleveland Guantlat. I agree about snow. He needs to come off the bench. I know in time Damon Jones will be the man there, but they need it now. I watched that game last nite against the spurs and I have to admit I really was dissapponted. They could have a least put forth a challenge. They just got ran over. Gooden should still be ok. Or lets hope so. Season is just starting so we will see. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thats exactly my point.........WHEN HE DID PLAY. What do stats mean when you're less than 100% when it really counts like Shaq was NOT 100% when they lost to the Pistons.

I don't know what you're talking about but Miami will fall short again this year. The Pacers who are now at full strength. And until someone beats them in the East the Pistons are rulers of the East. Nuff said.

i would say heat and spurs or heat and pistons
i saw the lakers play with the nuggets and they kept passing the ball to kobe not much of team work
Well it couldn't be the heat and the Pistons since they're both from the Eastern Conference. I say Pistons or Indiana out of the East and Spurs or Rockets out of the West. Realistically it will be the Spurs out of the West though. The rest of the Western conference is a bunch of *** hats.

Well I could say Pistons or Pacers but lets not say I am not one to jump on the bandwagon. Pistons have only been good the last 3 or so years. So yeah I am sure they will still do good but I am not rooting for them. I want to see someone else go. A team that can come out of nowhere and surprise everyone. So go Cavs!

Also I dont know how you can count out shaq. Yeah he is older but still can put up very good numbers.

Cavs are a one player wonder. Eventually they're going to have to make some serious additions to that team to compliment him in order to get anywhere. Even the best player to ever play the game "Michael Jordan" needed support to win championships. By the way, the additions they've made this year don't count, I'm talking about REAL additions.

As far as Shaq is concerned I'm sure he'll put up numbers since he is still allowed to commit an offesive foul on every possession. This allows him to score the points he scores. Without that he would be nothing but a slug to take up space in the middle. You see that once they made the rule change for "defensive 3 seconds" he isn't as effective on the defensive end anymore. Just something to think about.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif Do you have any idea what you're talking about? The Cavs biggest problems last season were defense and outside shooting. Larry Hughes is an all-NBA 1st team defender and a good slasher, Damon Jones is a good three-point shooter, and Donyell also shoots the 3 at a good percetange, as well as being a great rebounder and solid defender. Considering the free agent market and what the Cavs needed, they had a great offseason. It's laughable that you don't think any of the players are "real" additions.
