Test tone question

What is the best tone to use? Will different tones produce better/worse results? I used a 50Hz tone last time. Would say a lower tone make a difference? And what are -3dB etc tones for?

That's a vague question... What are you trying to achieve with the tone? Hell, you could be trying to get your nuts hummed by a subwoofer for all we know.
