test light question

ok im re testing my connections for all my coaxials. when the car is off, nothing lights up on my test light. when the car is on, both - and + light up. how do i figure out which one is - or +. i dont have the car manual either

What are you trying to test? Wire continuity?

I'd rather use a DMM...and check resistances...

im trying to figure out which wire is + and which is - for my 6x9's. both of them light up
