Does anyone have any idea what kind of qualifications you must meet to be able to test drive cars for a living? I have to do some stupid *** assignment where we pick our dream job and then figure out how to do it because ANYTHING is possible.....

I think he's talking about for like safety inspection and stuff like that. It is a profession, but i know u have to have more than just ur license. U have to take a buncha courses that race car drivers probably had to take.

Yeah, I mean test driving as in what this british guy does. He makes a d@mn good living by throwing cars around on a track a couple times a year and is filthy rich...not to mention he's actually getting to drive these cars. They asked what your dream job was and well...I thought big.

The guy without the helmet is Jeremy Clarkson, he has been a presenter on that show for years, also was a motoring journalist before getting the TV job. Have a look at http://www.topgear.com

The guy in the helmet is called "The Stig" he is on each week on the show driving various cars around the track. Last time I looked no one knew who he really was (could probably be found on Google) but it's rumored (and most likely) that he is an ex racing driver.

It's a lot more work than chucking a car around on a track a couple times a year, its all year long. While not filming the TV series Clarkson writes for various magazines/newspapers and the Stig .......... no idea. Probably loaded if he is an ex racing driver.

I would try to contact someone at the BMW plant in Greer, SC. They have a test track there.

I was thinking about it if only this wasnt due in less than an hour. I'll still probably due it later though. It'll be good information to know.
