Termlab vs Audiocontrol

as we all know TL is the perfered method of measureing since it's the one used in the major competition circuits, its newer, and harder to score on with it haveing you have maintain pressure for 4 seconds before it'll register it as a score (it's the best way to go).....

well my question is how much off is the TL from the older audiocontrol (GENERALLY SPEAKING). obviously there's hundreds of determining factors that'll make the scores diffferant, but as a generalization, how many dB's off are they between each other, typically...? (TL will forever be better, but i might have access to an audiocontrol mic so thats why i ask).

IIRC ir refreashes ever 2 sec so most hold burps for 3sec to ensure it has refreashed at least one full time.

also with the old ac 180 they have a control that lets you set the k factor...and its doubtful that any 2 shows are the same, thats why you can run twice on the same day with a ac 180 and do 2 TOTALLY different scores

Yes, great link.

Mic measuremnts can be accurate, but since they rely on diaphram velocity as well as pressure, vibrations can adversly affect results. Term Lab, on the otherhand, only measures pressure as it doenst use a 'diaphram' in the same scence as a microphone.

Why anyone still buys an AC190 I dont know. AC mics are expensive, more expensive than Two termlab scensors and the sorfware. Granted you need a computer too, but if you dont have one it makes the prices about the same, the termlab software makes it better for testing and the TL is more accurate to boot.

Wayne Harris pwnz all major competitions except feggy IASCA.

Which is why i also suggest in getting metered by only a TL. If you got metered by an AC, it will give you a somewhat rough estimate on where you are at. That's why it's termlab or go home.

Nice avatar. 145.6's are becoming popular //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
