alright, I was talking about my friends uncle's system today and was saying how he is really not using his 4 10" L5's to their full potential. His setup is

10" L5 x4

1000 watt MMATS amp for subwoofers

1000 watt MMATS amp for speakers

Heres the thing, would you rather have

2 10" L5's - 500 watts each - ported (2.0 cu ft per)

4 10" L5's - 250 watts each - sealed (1.0 cu ft per)

yea it really all depends on the install...

EDIT~that box is way too small for 4 l5's

o i know four subs ported would be way louder, but as you can see in the picture, if he only has this room to do a box, if you take out 2 subs, you got twice the room. But I also told my friends "2 subs ported would be better, take up the same room and sound way better, their starving on only 250 watts". No hating on his system though, it still bangs... but not for the buck....

making sense in my mind... and even the money wasnt an issue with him it would have saved him the price of 2 L5's.

ha, he isnt so much rich as he likes pimpin out cars. There should be some pics of his 03 navigator w/ 24"s up by this summer...
