Tell me what YOU ALL think of this!!!

Ok here goes...There is a new series of Jl subs out now..They are the 13.5"w6v2...yea and they also make a 13.5"w7(for those who dont know)...I mean the company has A LOT of money, They are like the TOP seller of car audio in the WORLD..They have farily decent equipment..A bit overrated and VERY overpriced....The thing that gets me is that JL audio is building a 13.5..I call a Bull shit on that being the magic number between a 12 and a 15..Why not just go ahead and make a 15" w6v2 and w7...I mean yea it would cost more to make sure a big basket, extend VC's, magnet, larger cone.>ETC ETC.....I mean yea it would cost more money from the company..But I woud think overall it would be worth it! So what the hell is holding JL AUDIO back from doing this? Hell no ONE is really buying the 13.5's mainly for price..But There isnt a WHOLE LOT of difference SPL wise between the 12 and the 13.5...I mean there is a difference but not noticable enough to start a WHOLE series of these subs..but hey maybes it just me..What do you all think?

I perosnally dont understand it either. Thats me, but I have a buddy and he wanted a 13" subwoofer basically cause it was different and no one else had it. I think JL gained some buyers because you dont always see 13.5" subs out there. I garauntee it turned out to be a good marketing idea for JL, even though its performance is questionable.

i think the effective piston diameter is like 12", so maybe thats why they do it. dunno

The W7 has a 13.5 due do it's effective cone size. It has the same Sd as a 15" subwoofer. The W6v2, however, I don't understand. Its surround is not mounted the same way, and the W6 13.5 does NOT have the same cone area as a 15". Perhaps just a gimick.

My thoughts are similar...just so people can say they have a 13.5 JL...
