I had a kicker cvt12 and kicker zx400.1

Im looking for a bit more power and more bass

AMP:

Hitron HPA2000.1D

Hitron HPA2000.1D (hpa20001d) 2000W Max, Pro Series Class D

SUB:

SPL SP2-12 (2 of these wired to 1OHM)

SPL SP2-12 (sp212) 1400W Max, 12" Dual 4 ohm SP2 Series Subwoofer

would this be a good cheap build?

if not suggestions?

im looking to spend 250 on sub and amp

No. hitron and spl are junk. For the budget your on i would suggest maybe selling your old system to get some more money(if you haven't already). and buy used, if you buy off Craigslist always verify on site that the equipment your buying works. have them show you it works(at least the amp) the subs your generally okay if you measure the voice coils with a DMM ans they hold steady near their rated impedance.

hell no. go on craigslist my friend, there are many treasures (but lots of junk too) and check back with us here before you buy, or you will most likely get junk. i purchased a kicker kx1200.1 and 2 l5 12s in a prefab kicker box with iron grilles for 200 on cl (not a kicker fan i just bought it to resell) i then sold the amp for 275 and the subs for 175. but on a budget some low end stuff that is made by a semi decent company at the least will be fine

well from looking, i would think the hifonics package is better simply because the mtx amp on the other package does 250 rms, and your kicker amp was putting out more power than that. also DO NOT SHOP FOR MAX power ouput. its all irrelevant when running an amp/subs as you don't want to push over rms.

also the hifonics amp is not cea2006 compliant so you may or may not see the stated rms in the specs. it is fused at 120 amps so it will push close to the rated rms.

so, the hifonics package is the best of the 2 choices. but truthfully, i would save a little money and buy some used equipment on craigslist or the classifieds on here or caraudioclassifieds.com.
