Please be gentle first time with sketchup, kinda fun. Here is the design I come up with for the box to put in my kid's s-10 housing a single eclipse 12" aluminum. Just looking for a good sounding musical box mostly. I tried tuning it to around 34hz, but I think the internal volume ended up a little smaller than I figured and the port is a little longer.

sub info

Fs 27 Hz

Qts 0.30

Vas 3.2 Cu Ft

SPL 89.4 db

VCoil Z 3.1 Re Ohm per coil

Power 500/1000 Watts

Qms 5

Qes 0.32

XMax 1.30" 1 way

Sd 511.0 Sq CM

could someone at least tell me if I made any terrible mistakes, port width, sub or port placemet or anything. I am working on another design that hopefully will have a little more volume, so I would like to fix any other issues I got at the same time.

A little help here?!

It is for a s10 extended cab, I have 52" wide and 14" deep, the height can vary up to 18ish. I was thinking I needed about 4 cubes net.

Wow....out of all the experienced enclosure builders and in-the-know guys who can tell you how to build a perfect 46th order BP for any sub off the top of their head, nobody can even offer this guy a comment on his box/questions??

dats fukked up
Wish I could offer some info/insight, OP, but .....

Thanks, I always feel guilty doing that. But man I need some help on this, want to get my kids new box built, it is kinda ghetto right now.
Seems a bit large for a single 12. How did you come to this conclusion?
winisd. Got a better recommendation?
I can't see the pics,
hmmmm?
Do sub up, ports to the side. 4 cubes does seem big though.
It is sub up, port up. It would be sub up, port forward, I worried about the port firing right into the seat. Like I said that is what winisd spit out, I thought it seemed a little big also, but I really am green in the enclosure designing part of this.
That should be pretty close to 4 cubes at 30 hz.
A little bigger than 4 and lower than 30.
Will it work okay for a daily?

Folks have prolly just missed seeing your post, as they usually offer up good suggestions for enclosure options.

(Not that I know anything , but the quick calculations I ran online indicates that the pics of your initial plan are well oversized at around 5.66cubes.

One of the calcs I used your T/S parameters in showed a single sub in a very basic rectangular ported enclosure at 1.2cubes and a 6" x 42" cylindrical port.)

Hopefully one of the guys will step in soon who knows whats what...
