Copyright no, trademark it, most definately. Go try and sell some apparel that says Gators on it or Raiders on it and see what happens...

And yes, ford technically CAN sue you for using the word explorer without paying royalties. Would they, of course not, the bad publicity would hurt sales... But a smaller company going after an individual who has a history of flaming their products, most definately.

I was contacted by "Lowe’s Home Improvement" (the TM term) because of a trademark infringement, like on Google, when you search my site for Lowe’s it was added to the META tag and page title (example ). My response was I couldn't control people using their trademarked word but I could log the users IP so they could file a case against them.

Needless to say Lowe’s didn't like that idea and didn't want to be black listed from my site so they left it alone.

Don has helped me out in the past, and in my opinion is a good dude. I am friends with some people who REALLY dislike him, but as with most things, I'm sittin' on the fence being friends with everyone....lol
