Im going to be buying me subwoofers soon but im wondering what you guys think. Im either going with 2 15"'s or 2 12"s. Heres what i narrowed it down too.

TC-LMS-5400 15" for $845

TC-5200= 12" TC 5200 for $595

TC-3000=15" for $395

TC-LMS-5400 12" for $645

TC-LMS-4000 15" for $598

15" SI Mags for $500

Which would you choose? Its for a Explorer sport.

My current setup is 200amp alternator, big 3, optima, germaniums, jl 2/300, 200+ sq feet of sound deadner.

What other upgrades would i need to my electrical system if i got the 5400's?
Ok, let me try to take this route, what is your goal?

As for your elec system, lets say you need upward 4k rms.

Id say start with the Big 3 (search, its been gone over many many times)

A 200+ amp alternator, and atleast 2 batteries, 1/0 wiring all over.

I really want a SQ setup, but i also want it too get LOUD. Im kinda leaning towards the LMS-4000, but do you think the 5400 would be worth spending the extra money?

I have a 200 amp alternator, big 3 done, optima, and 0 gauge through the whole car. I could always get another battery.

First off, nix the 5200 if you are going for more sq.

The LMS-5400s need a LOT of power. You would probably want around 2.5k to each, which you would probably need a bigger alternator. TC makes some great subs imo, the only problem is no one has heard the 5400s or the 4000s, but from my experience with the Uberwoofer (3hp motor) anything better will surely suit you. The 3000s are very similar to my sub, which to me means that you cant go wrong with them. However either LMS will be louder and probably sound better due to the Linear Motor technology and bigger voice coil (than the 3000s).

The Mags I've never heard personally, but lloyd is doing a 150 to music with 2 12s while sounding great he says (2500 on the pair?)..so with the right install, 2 15s should be louder while sounding just as good.

Basically, you can't lose..if $$ is not a problem, I would go 5400s just because no one has them. What's practical for one person might not be practical to another. If you wanna do big on a DD, go for it. If you're going for the 5400s, be prepared to shell out a pretty penny. But basically, you can't go wrong any way you choose.

ive never heard the mags but i have a SS(me and everyone else in the world), which is a modified tc9 driver. this thing doesnt know distortion. u can clip it, bottom it out, bass boost the fawker but it wont distort!

just my 2 cent.

of that list i would take mags hands down... but hey waht do i know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Not much..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif lol jp

Never heard any of the TC products (except my old ED12A & 15A flat cones TC9 Motor). However I have owned a 15" Mag. It was by far the best sub I have owned to date (the most comparable subs I have owned are 04XXX12, 05XXX15, 13W7, 12A, 15A,). IMO $500 shipped for a 15" Mag is def. not over priced. They are very, very excellent subs I will own at least a pair of them in the future.
