TC Sounds Customer Service.....

Well as we all know i have a tendancy to abuse equpiment and push my shit to it's limits. I was pretty irratic to blame TC's woven leads for my recent driver failure, as well as to put myself in a state of denial thinking i babied the sub when i really pounded the shyt out of it and played it dangerously close to the cutoff where it shouldnt play (lack of a variable ssf + too big a box can lead to bad things if not being careful). Shit breaks when you dont use it right, and nothing feels worse than knowing the limits of a driver, and reaffirming this by blowing the ****er up...its a reallllly shitty feeling.....I'm still not a fan of woven tensils, but it's not the woven tensil design that broke those tensils, it was my arrogance...

We all make mistakes, and Thilo at TC is nice enough to work wiht me and help me get another top at a reduced price. Most big companies would laugh at you and tell you to eat shit, but Thilo is working with me and im very fortunite to have him doing so. If you guys ever had any doubts about thier CS, you're wrong....They're willing to work with me at the peak of my stupidity, and that says alot. Any issues had in the recent past got taken care of and TC worked with anyone who expirenced defective drivers.

We all have our good days and bad days. We all make mistakes. nG and mattfeg can talk shit all they want, but at the end of the day we're all human, we all learn from our mistakes, and i'm luckily to be with a company thats willing to see that and look past to help me.

since this has set me back alittle bit, i still need to upgrade the alty, and chances are i wont have everything said and doen by mid march for the nationals....im probly gonan wait till i have a better daily box before i start on a better fartbox.....

any BIG company i can think of wouldnt work with someone in my situation, this is the reason why i like the internet based smaller companies (even though they are the OEM for many big brands). It's the bad *** customer service.

20hz? Box will be like 7 cubes gross with that long arse port....Those specs are home audio specs I believe.

There's also no reason to tune that low in a car...cabin gain will give you that additional low end extension.

Ported - 3.4 ft3 @ 34Hz

large box for low end extension (wouldnt mind haveing those lows...)

Ported 5.0 ft3 @ 20Hz

i havent decided completely which one ill do...if i do the smaller box im ight be able to have room for a nice amp rack....and thatd be nice...

I think everyone punishes their audio system. I blew up some proamps

just to find out what they can really do. I fixed one, gotta fix the other.

It's all good in the end, another experience point to add to your stats

well said. sometimes you learn the hard way. half the fun of haveing this kind of bad *** stereo eupiment is to beat the shit out of, it's the best when you can find a brand that'll take the abuse daily like it's nothing. assumeing you dont overlook variables that'll **** in you the *** like i so eligantly shown for you people.....im glad TC seems to share the same view too....and cali thanks for the kind words. it's not very often you hear that, ussualy flames and ***** talk from nG and others....

also as far as the box goes....now that im going to have an amp wit a variable SSF i can use that box safer full tilt and low. it sounds GREAT in the big box, i just played it too low with a filter where it needs to be. another box for the super low a relativly flatter frequency response ( which will sound very nice) and murderous lows with tons of juice would sound great. id need top be careful with tons of power and the 6.7cubs box. who knows with tons of juice the smaller lower tuned box will sound as good and become the primary daily and id throw out the old box. 2.5kW and that box were raw ear *** in my car (at frequencies that dont kill the sub lol). ld box peaked at 45hz yet murdered the lows...it'd be an interesting change.
