did a search but alot of the comparisons were with the TC-1000 vs FI SSD

wanted to know how the TC-9's would hold up against the SSD.... which one would be a better overall sub?

and also which one can hit the lows harder/louder??

I've owned numerous of both...

Really depends, I think the most comparable would be the SSD w/ the copper coil versus a completely stock TC9.

so if i was to compare the SSD w/copper coils and the stock TC-9, what would your overall opinion be? which one would you choose and why?

im looking for a future sub, more into sq/sql.... i want something that can sound good but also hit the lows pretty hard... my current sub cant hit lows very much, partly because its sealed but i want something alil louder for the future as well

all i know is i love my ssd

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif flatwind gives the sub alittle extra power handling. and as nG educated me, copper helps the sub hit the lows

you have to choose either or, cant have both options

Honestly.

I would go with the SSD unless you are going to be getting a custom TC9 with a pulp cone.

I personally just don't like the sound of Aluminum cone subwoofers in the car audio environment. They sound too "tinny" to me.

The numerous TC9's I rebuilt, I rebuilt them with standard pulp cones after receiving them with Aluminum cones. They were much more pleasant sounding to me, little louder as well. It would be a much harder choice for me if they both feature the same cone/surround.

909 area near pomona

so it seems like the SSD comes out on top against the 9...

i dont mean to sound like a nub and start comparing every sub but would the TC-2000 have the same results when comparing it with the SSD

edit: i'd probably end up going with a 12" SSD dual 2 and run it 1 ohm on my amp with the copper coils.... ive asked this question on FI's forum and they told me my box would be to big for a sealed enclosure... 1.5cubes before displacement for a 12" SSD what do you guys think?
