Tc 4hp/ Kx2500.1 Vids :)

first and foremost....joel....i love this amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif im glad i picked it up off you. and yes it seems a little louder than when you heard it.

UCF FTWFW for sure

the kx is taking 1 ohm like a champion. i drove from orlando to tampa and around in tampa (total of about 2 hours) and playing **** near full tilt with the windows down. granted there was some air flow going against the amp. but even so thats 2 hours ( not really any breaks ) of full tilt at on it, and it never got HOT, just really warm, nothing that i would consider hot. the mtx's at 1 ohm would get realllly hot after 30 min, this barely flinched.

now yesterday with the windows up and now air flow it took about 45min of full tilt and it was pretty warm. but still nothing to sweat about. ive had amps that you think you could cook eggs off of. this kx hasnt given me any issues at all

and lastly, i like it more with this new cone. im not sure wether its the cone or the new amp, but the sq has stepped up quite a bit from before. above 50 Hz it looses a little bit of sq but its still pretty **** decent. below 50 everythign just sings. besides it sounding better. this cone is WAY sexier

cant wait for you guys to hear it in person at the new years meet and hear for yourselves

with the mp3 player it is ghetto as hell.......when the good deck is in it's not AS bad...still a lil gheto but definitly not bad by any means...besides the wangage makes up for it

ok....more vids later today. also i had an idea

see im too poor to afford to build anew box, and if i do im gonna build an spl box. this box is ok exept for where the sub is mounted, 2 screw hole spots are so worn that the screws dotn catch and air leaks. so i had an idea

im going to the best of my ability seal off the original mounting hole with a board and liquid nails, and cut out a new mouting spot on the TOP of the box. this will go as an experiment to see which firing position sounds better in a direct swap kind of manner, and save me soem money since i cannt afford the materials for a new box until after Xmas...we'll kee you guys posted

maybe im misunderstanding you, but why dont u just rotate the sub in the hole?
originally the box was for a 15 with a port that snaked around a little. well when i movedf up to an 18 i knocked out 2 of the baffles inside to make more room and widened the 15 cutout to an 18 cutout.....unfortunitly i didnt take my time and ****ed up, causeing one area to be a little too wide and the screws dont catch. they would used to catch a little but from so many mountings that little area that would catch is all ****e dup....it's pretty ugly.....now im gonan take my time and use my old basket to make sure the cutout is perfect.

when im done. it'll be a frankienbox, till then, MORE VIDS!!!!!!!!

id just use some clear silicone and seal it off. im not sure but im going to say it wont be as loud if you face the sub up port back with the same box you have
i used silicone in the past to make a seal on that hole.......buuuut i wanna try something new. the box is a POS anyways, so i figure one last experiement with it wont hurt. with a hatchback like it might be louder, might not. if its the same id like that but who knows till i try. im about to find out. then if it sounds too much like *** ill just go and make a whole new box.....
