Talk me out of Alpine Type R! (whats better)

I havent heard many subs nor do I know a whole lot about which brands make what now, but out of what ive personally heard and read the Type R 12" sounds like my best bet.

I can get two new 12" type R's for $250 shipped.

Can you talk me out of it? Im willing to spend 200-300 on a PAIR of subs. Also 4-ohm would be ideal.

SE's sound alot better, but the R's are louder, this comparison is made everytime..and i'd go with the SE everytime.

great suggestion, those are only twice as much as he's trying to spend. i'd have recommended a custom parthenon motor with a 42 inch cone myself.
