Talk about bad crossover settings..

does it say what hes powering it with? I mean what kind of cam wouldnt at least show some excursion. Maybe he has the amp on hpf. Cuz from what I saw I was hearing more vocals than the bass, could have been the rear fill but usually the bass is supposed to drown the vocals.

maybe its on full pass

maybe he set his SSF way too high. Sounded/looked like a bad setup to me, the camera didn't show any sub movement for the low tones and the mic didn't pic up any low tones. Call me crazy, but my guess is it wasn't a faulty camera.

This thread is unbelieveable. It was filmed with a freaking digital camera. They aren't made to capture sub 100hz sounds really at all, it just isn't practicle. Hell most dedicated video cameras wouldn't be able to pick anything like that up. Obviously it is going ot pick up more vocals because that is what it is designed for. But usually bass is supposed to drown the vocals???? This is depressing.
I didnt mean to say that every single cam will pick that stuff up man. I was being conservative. If I was being "dumb" as u are suggesting I would say there is no bass and there is no excursion at all. I know some cams wont even pick up the excursion cuz of certain camera tricks (shutter too fast too slow etc, mic quality etc.). But in general from crappy cams you can still hear some bass. Of course its not reproduced 100% but u can hear it. Which is not the case here.

im sorry i did not see this earlier. im friends with the gentlemen who did this video. i helped him pick his system. its around 3 cubes at 30hz. he failed to tell me he had the SSF at 30hz. now that its at 25 hes much much happier. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

edit: hes using a new profile amp that puts out i believe 300 watts at 4 ohms. i chose this amp for him because hes a youngin and was on a strict budget. he purchased it from crutchfield for a solid price and hes more than impressed with this system!

OK so now the situation is justifiable

Most music wont have bass lower than 30 hz. Even then the sub is fine to about ~26hz from what i hear.
Depends on what he listens to //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Rap? No, probably not. Most other stuff, and it's quite possible.

ive been very impressed with a recent install i did with an atlas 12 and a mean ported box tuned to 27hz. hehe. unbelievable SQ IMO, (price considered), oh, ant the box is bad ***, best box ive ever built. shit was huge for that 12" though. almost 5 cubes gross, only 2.6 cubes for the sub! thats a long *** port length!
