Tablesaws...

I would buy the cheapest one if your only a hobbist. The difffrence in the others is a storage cabinet stand and a dust bag stand.
Also check classifieds. You may get a better saw for less and if its just for occasional use...

Thanks, nice lookin' Edzy.

The only thing I didn't look at those first is 'cause, well, I don't want to replace an engine anytime soon, or a bearing, etc.

the easiest thing to do would be to make your own with a skill saw, remove the guard, mount it upside down...

if you are going to build more than 3 boxes and 2 desks, get something better than sears...its like going to walmart for subs...

delta is a top brand when it comes to those..

sounds dangerous

If I need to make cuts in larger pieces, I just use a temp 1/2 ply top. Lay it across the table, fire it up and raise the blade thru the ply. Then make measurements square off the blade on to the ply. Clamp a straight piece of wood on the ply as a fence. Can make square cuts up to 4' like that.

Sure, it can be, but were talkin' about a saw, it's always dangerous, if it's done right, it works.

Or you can just use some clamps and a STRAIGHT piece of wood for your skill saw guide, it works fine as long as you measure properly.
