the craftsman aren't bad that what nVRuckus and i use to build our boxes. i would stay away from the portable ones though

That link just takes me to a Sears page with no saws. Which one are you looking at?

NM: I clicked on it again and this time it went to the product.

It will cut wood but you won't be able to upgrade it later on. And by upgrade I mean buy a better fence, miters, extended tables, etc. That is really just a portable saw they added legs to. For 2 bills you can do better with a used saw.

if your doing big cuts all the time get a good table saw, if your just doing a few boxes now and then get a skill saw.

JET has that table saw at mendards for $230, one of the few belt driven saws for that cheap...i haven't seen a cheaper belt driven for that cheap actually, more on much more expensive delta or whatever saws at $500 or so...

let me know if anyone knows a belt driven one for around the same price....

suppose to be quieter and smoother...
