Well I sold my old Planet Audio amp and gave the guy that was selling the T30001BD a call up to see if he still had it, and to my suprise he did!
Of course before buying it I wanted to install it and test it out so we made plans to meet up today. We just met up at the Quik Trip gas station and he pulled up driving a new 07' Escalade truck on 26's. Seeing him pulling up in that truck made me drop any second thoughts that it could be a scam. Anyways he pulled out the GIANT box and opening it up on his tailgate. It was as he described having all the paper work and original packaging. The amp was in mint condidtion too, no scratches at all I couldn't believe that he only wanted $500 for it.
I then jumped in the back of my blazer and began to hook it up. My 1/0 ga. distro block has 2ga. coming out and it slipped into the power connections of the amp without any problems. The 8ga. speaker cable also fit very well. I started to look over the gains and checked out where the gains were set previously, It looks like he had the gain set about half way. I adjusted the gain to down to a tad over a 1/4 of the way up since im only running 120amp alt with Big 3 and (1) yellow top. I then started my vehicle up and loaded up Young Jeezy, Soul Surviour.....
O M G I couldn't believe how good it sounded and how much louder the 18" BTL was with the T30001bd running at only a 1/4 gain in comparision to my Planet Audio vx2200 at 3/4 gain.
As Young Jeezy was playing at full tilt I checked my voltage and it was dropping down to 12.8 on peak bass hits, this amp sucks alot of juice! I plan on running it at 1/4 gain till I get a 300amp alternator. There was no smell from the amp and it ran cool for the entire 5 minute song.
I still can't believe that I got a $2000 retail amp for only $500 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I'll take pics tonight and make a video this weekend.
So now the hunt is on for the best quality, best priced 300amp alt out there.
