Alright, heres the deal. I'm running 2 Diamond Audio 10" D3's off of a D3 600.1 amp. They are in a custom ported box (not sure what dimenions, but done by a good shop), and my head unit is an Eclipse 5425. I'm very impressed with it, and it really bangs for 2 10's.
I've been thinking about upgrading, but i'm not sure what to get. The first step I will do is add another 600.1 amp. I would just upgrade to a 1500.1 D6, but I already have a 600.1 with a lifetime warranty, and it would be easier financial wise to buy another 600.1 from the shop since I already have one, as opposed to dropping 1,000 dollars on a completely different amp. I am going to get the amp from the shop because of the lifetime warranty, but I want to get some new subs off of the internet.
I was thinking either D6's or D9's. My questions are: Is 1200 watts enough to run 2 10" D9's, and do they bump a lot harder than the D6's? And my 2nd question is, assuming I go with the D6's, will the difference be really noticable as opposed to my current setup? I want SQ which I will get with either one of these subs, but I'm looking for SPL more than anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
