Hey I want to put a cheap system in my work car, nothing special. This is what I have.

Amp: (1) Pioneer GM-X972

Specs: 150x2 (4 Ohms) 200x2 (2 Ohms) 400x1 (4 Ohms)

Subs: (2) Pioneer TS-W1241DVC

Specs: 4 Ohm 1000w max. 500 nom.

What would be the best way to hook this up? I need to know how to run the wires on the subs to the amp, to get the most out of the amp and subs.

Thanks

thats helpfull.those subs are dual 4 ohm v/c right? assuming they are, wire them to 2 ohm stereo on that amp to get the most power out of it.

subs are rated at 500 rms.

hes sending 200 to them

thats the reason for the suggesting another amp

and you also did see i attached a wiring a diagram which he could use for his current setup. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

Thanks for the replys guys. I'm trying to use what I have laying around for the work car. I also have a JBL 600.1 would I be better off using it?

Remember I do not want to buy a new amp. So which one should I use the JBL 600.1 or the Pioneer?

Thanks.

P.S. This is going in a work car that I only drive to and from work no where else.

it is 2 ohm stable..600x 1@ 2ohm and 300x1 @4ohm..

he'd be better off using the pioneer..yet the jbl's are a little underrated..pioneers put out what they say..idk??

come on man! u should no better then to question my shit...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif:)

the pioneer puts out 200x2 at 2 ohm's...figuring thats rms....

the jbl 600.1 puts out 300 rms at 4 ohm and 600 rms at 2 ohm..(he can hook them up only to 4 ohm in mono configuration w/ his subs)

now in his case the premeirs would either be gettin 150 rms each off the jbl amp at 4 ohm or 200rms x 2 at 2 ohm w/ the pioneer...thus given each pioneer 50 rms each more.so the pioneer would give more power..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

? is , is the pioneer amp rms rated or max?

Ok correct me if I'm wrong, but can't I wire the subs "Series / Parallel" and get Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofer: 4 Ohms or "Parallel / Parallel" and get Dual-4 Ohm Subwoofers: 1 Ohm.

With the pioneer I can only run it at 400x1 (4 Ohms) and the JBL 600.1 600x1 (2 ohms) if the JBL is 1 Ohm stable would I still get 600w or would I get more since it is 600w at 2 Ohms?

Thanks

You'd think people would know the JBL Powervalve amps considering they've been some of the most popular amps over the last 3 years ...
IT'S ONE OHM STABLE !!!!!!!!!

So, in regards to your question, use the JBL BP600.1 @ 1 ohm ...

...i looked at sites and some said 1 ohm but most said 2 ohm...i based it on the quality of the site that said it..also i've never reserched the amp therefore i wouldnt no..

"Point proven So...pioneer eh ?"
i was basing it on specs not what it is CAPABLE OF DOING...
