SX vs. D2 for my application

Alright I'm trying to decide between the Magnum D2 15 and the SX 15. I will have around room for a 4-4.5cu ft box and I will be running a memphis 1000D to it. I will be competing so I plan on tuning the box to 45hz with a plug for around 28hz. I want around 60/40 spl/sq. And does anyone know the price of shipping would be on the SX? I live in Orlando, FL.

If you need to know anything else to help me, just let me know.

Please state what your basing your reply on, please do not reply if you haven't heard either of the woofers or do not have some sort of evidence behind what your saying.

Sorry about the sub vs. sub thread but its hard to find things about the SX cus its only 2 letters //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Dont be sorry for another sub vs sub thread. I understand you want a head to head comparison and would prefer to get your answer specifically. But instead of just typing SX, you could try Resonant Engineering in and see what that brings up. (a tip for future references) But anywayz, nice choices. I was stuck in the same situation. I didnt know if i should go with the 12D2 or 12Sx. I went ahead and got the D2. Man these things can bump. I dont feel like i made the wrong decision at all. And since you want to tune at around 28hz, the D2s would pound. As many people on these threads has said, the D2s are wonderful subs. SQ is nice for daily and SPL is great for comps. Nick really done a great job with the D2s. But I never heard the SX's just read a fair amount of threads on them, and from what i hear, they are nice performing subs also. Thats why i say, either one would do great. But in my opinion, go with the D2s. They are awesome

The Sx has the capability to be a very loud driver. It works with authority, and will be happy with 1000 watts. To extract the most out of a 15, you will need around a 5 cubic foot box, tuned around 32 hz for daily and 47 hz for comps.

The SQ on the Sx, is just okay, it would work in your 60/40 application. Check ghs_wrestler189 gallery to see what the Sx can do.

thanks, right now im leaning towards the SX, just gotta see how much room I have in my trunk when I get my car on Friday, and I gotta find out how much the SX is gonna be after shipping.

I'd say the D2 has better SQ than the SX but not by much. When I tune the port to 33 hz, the SQ is excellent. I've never heard a D2 yet, but I've read a lot about their excellent SQ.

I recommend the SX since it's almost $100 cheaper and is available immediately (I'm not sure if there is still a wait on D2's).
