Switching from SA12's to ZV.3 12's? DB difference?

Planning to double my power soon, (saz-3500D 2012 model). I have 2 SA12's with sundown SPL coils on a saz 1500d @ 1ohm. (not much) Upgrading to the 3500D will probably give me a ~2 or 3DB increase. But what would the difference be if I changed the SPL sa12's out for regular coiled Zv.3 12's? (considering running them at .5ohm) Any input would be great! thanks!

Should be louder, and be a ton cleaner with the increase in motor strength.

Right now the issue is lows. Below 26Hz the subs loose control, but they have enough strength (even on the 1500) to make the box jump lol. Its because they are SPL coiled.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Well the Z motor strength will help with lows too, but what are you listening to that is that low???

What box and port do you have the sa's in now?

Im pretty sure the spl coils are made for burping, hence why they dont sound great down low

The box is actually built for the stock woofer coil, (everything was bought used) so the box is tuned to 34Hz, 3.8FT^ ~ 4FT^ the SPL coil raises the FS of the woofer by ~10HZ so its a little off but the lower tuned box helps even it out. Music still sounds good considering the situation but I know its not their intended application.. Just adding to the reasons of why I want to upgrade.. But! the SPL coil can take a HUGE amount of power, so my next upgrade is a 3500D @ 1ohm. Then when I have moneys for Z's il get 2Ohm VCs on them so I can drop that 3500 to .5... Provided I feel like putting in another alternator.. or 2
