Sweet Truck..crappy System!!!

I just wanted to point out something I saw in the New TRUCKIN magazine. Typically my obsessions revolve around other features of custom trucks and Cars besides just the Audio system. In my mad pursuit for quality components and a quality system I have learned alot from this site..so I have become good at noticing good systems and I keep an eye out for them when reading a profile on a custom truck.On Page 40 of the new Truckin there is a INSANELY NICE SLAMMED 4 DOOR DUALLY,,,This thing is sweet with all the bells and whistles..exept the system???? Not that it is all that bad..I do not mean to implicate this guys system sucks 100% but when you see the truck you would initially suspect a better sound set up or higher end components to match everything else on the truck.

Pyle DVD player/head set

Kenwood amplifiers

2-12"Audiobahn subs

they don't even mention the speakers???

I thought if you spent $8000 on paint..Ostrich skin seats and $25.000 in engine/body upgrades you should atleast spend $1000 on the sounds?

Maybe thats nice..but He can trade me my ARC amps..CDT comps..ID subs and Pioneer H/U in my $5000 truck anyday

now thats an expensive unit. Id put it up against an AVH-P7500 any day

What makes this poor guys system even worse is who else is in the Magazine this month.

On the other 2 spreads right before this guy..there is a nice standard cab S-10 with about 5000 watts of MTX and very strategically placed Tweets/Mids and Subs..and Alpine HU/Screen....Then there is abother Dually 4 pages away that I really like..The Bet is full of JL amps...2/1000 and 1/750..cab has a blow through hole for the subs and is decorated with seperates on the inside..and another sweet ALPINE model..This poor guy with the pyle is in some BAD company this month!!!

the worst sytem to coolest vehicle ratio in TRUCKIN has to be that yellow hummer....sweet *** jacked up h2 and then it had 6 10"bazooka triangles....blaghhghghg

Truckin' does a horrible job of describing the stereos. Oh well, they're not really featuring the stereos now.

I must say ... when I'm flipping through the magazine and see some Audiobahn stuff, it's usually in a pretty nice install ... the next feature, all out JL in an awesome install as well. It happens all of the time ... I get grumpy when I see the $75, 000 truck with a crappy install, but flip the page and hey, now you're talkin'.

first of all..that YELLOW HUMMER is all over my neighborhood..A CHICK OWNS IT

2nd...Yea..Truckin in my opinion is ignorant not to focus more on the Stereo systems...I sometimes see the photos and identify components and get VERY curious and desire a spread on the Stereo set up alone..they usually just "briefly" list the components and where it was done..STUPID in my opinion. Anyone who loves cars is BOUND to love systems and vice Versa

ALSO.....DUALLY'S ARE THE COOLEST SLAMMED TRUCKS AROUND..and Yes you can tow with them slammed!!! in fact most SLAMMED Custom Dually's in magazines are actually tow vehicles for other show vehicles....

I mean think about is he graded on the quality of the truck or the quality of the sound. It is a show truck not a comp truck. And sometimes it is a trailer qeen. I mean would u but an $3,000 system in some thing that u will listen to maybe 1 every 3 months. I mean i had a friend that had some badass alpine stufff on layaway. But he took it off to buy a gear for his car so it could run a 13.9

You have a point..but as a Custom CAR/Truck lover I need a system...I will not LIE..systems are not 1st on my list..but they get alot of attention from me!!//Overall My Truck is worth about MAYBE $5000-$7000..But my System is gonna cost me about $2000..may sound dumb..and also I plan on investing alot of money into the looks of the Truck after the system..For a Hot Rod I would still need a $1000 system..Accept maybe my Drag car or something...I just think you need to finish what you started,,,MAYBE THE GUY HATES MUSIC???

But I have also seen some guys who still invest atleast 10% into Stereo stuff just because it's REQUIRED to finish the completeness of the Custom Project...Maybe it's just me..but you gotta give it "SOME" Bumps..

I AGREE..TRAILER QUEENS ARE NICE..BUT I NEED A DRIVER!!!
