supply and demand question

why should india and china make a law when we consume more gas than both of them. lowering the demand for gas is a waste of time, without mass utilization of alternative fuels. we need to raise the supply. a couple more refineries would help.
I don't actually believe this, I just worked with what he had and ran with it.

after thinking about it, wouldnt increasing the supply also increase demand? ;ets think about it:

if they somehow magically had more gas to sell, the supply is obviously higher and the price to supply it would most likely be lower. WOULDNT THIS CAUSE HIGH DEMAND? so in a way, it still balances out because now that gas is cheaper everyone wants it so the gas companies mark the prices up some??

If supply goes up then prices drop because it would have the same demand and would thus create a surplus, which isn't desirable for the producers so in turn they would lower the price so more sells.

what you just said is true, the only problem is that gas companies won't let what happened back in 2001 happen again. By that i mean flood the market with gas only to find out people were not driveing as much which drove prices down. They will make sure to have just enough to piss us off. And the main reason gas is real expensive in England is because the lowest octane you can get over there is 95 if i' not mistaken.

well-put thank you

gas is going up because there is supposedly a refinery problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

oh, and the big wigs in oil are money hungry cocksuckers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Isn't that exactly what I said about 3 dozen times in the last month ?
I think i read that more than once.. . . yes

that may be true, but the main reason is because the government there taxes the shit out of it.

i heard a report today from some analyst on wall street. he said that the oil company is profiting an average of 9 cents on every gallon they sell. that's after the cost of getting it from the ground, refining it and moving the product to consumer outlets. the government gets 45 cents for tax on every gallon, which is actually about the same as when gas was 2.00 per gallon.
Fed only gets 18.4 cpg (cents per gallon) And then every state have there own tax New York being the highest at 31.9 cpg and Georgia being the lowest at 7.5 cpg

i think he said that the average tax on gas is 45 cents/gall.. combining state and federal government taxes.
