Super Newb component help for under $150!

hello,

i'm totally new to components, have always used coaxials and from what everyone is saying here and at SD, components with a amp is the ONLY way to go...

i was thinking about going with a pair of REV 6.5 Coax's for about $90 shipped but have thought that maybe i'll bump my funds to $150 for a set of comps and $50 for a cheap amp like maybe a profile on ebay...(doubling my orginal budget)

from what most people are saying, CDT is the way to go...currently they have this sale at woofersect for this set for $140 Shipped!

I have also heard mostly good but a few bad about polk DB6500's as well...they are under $150 shipped as well...

so what can you suggest me for a good set of comps under $150?

i did do a search and realized that those ssc can be had for

google didn't help either...

one thing i also realized is that edi 6000cs and the cl-61a look quite similar...i also heard ed gets alot of their parts from cdt, anyone know anything about this? cus the 6000cs is cheaper and even cheaper with the forum discount...

search on ebay for the crystals, and the pioneer rev's also come in a component set, might wanna check them out.

For Crystal's go to ROE and ask Shon.

Or Toxictuan on this forum sells them $130 + shipping. He owns an online store and is legit. Pm him about them, he will hook you up. I got mine for $145 shipped from ROE.

you can get focal access off ebay at right around 150

only crystals on ebay are the ssx's...no ssc's...

Me and my brohter are both currently using the same Cdt speakers and all i can say it they rock!! They produce much smoother treble than infinity and mbq and so much more natural sounding compared to polk. I would suggest the Cdt Cl's they sound sooo dam good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Those are nice, but as with all speakers, installation and tuning is what can make or break them.

pay the extra to get the CL062 instead of CL-61, big difference in sound and power handling. Or get the EF-61s.
