I want to upgrade my amp. The amp in my sig does the work but I would like to push my 13w7 a little bit more. I was looking at getting the sundown 1500 amplifier. You think this is too much power? I think it will be ok. What do you guys think?

My 13w7 sees about 750 rms. It's wired to .5 ohm but with rise and whatever calculates in i believe its about 750rms at the moment

ok..mayb i should play safe then and go with the 1200 lol
good choice, it will do right at 1500w, with the added plus of being smaller and less money

You sending that sub half its rms power in a sealed box, i think you will be more than fine with the 1500
I would be willing to bet a 1500d will kill a w7 sealed, the motor can't cool once the air in the box has heated up, ending in thermal overload, and a very sad w7 owner:crying:

haha..i wouldnt be pissed my sub blew..just the fact that when i got into car audio thats what was persuaded to me..i bought it used for 450$..but still thats money i coulda bought 2 12" re se or something..but o well..ill got with the 1200d..ive learned my lesson..

jl arent bad subs. they just are expensive, and there are other subs out there that perform jsut as great at half the cost haha

If you need to run @ 0.5ohm do not get the sae-1200d. Get an SAZ series amplifier. I recommend you get the saz-1500d.

I second that, even with impedance rise, .5 ohm on a SAE-1200D is asking for it to be protect happy or blown.... It's a beast at 2 ohm though. SAZ-1500D if that's too much power consider the SAZ-1000D, but really I think if you MUST run .5 ohm, with a sealed box, SAZ-1500D and go EASY on it... Or just buy a NightShade sub and be done...

i have to wire it to .5 ohm..or 3 ohm..jl subs are gay like that..but if i go 3 ohm i might as well dump money on a jl 1000/1v2 even though id rather get a sundown for cheaper and better power
