When I rate a sub 200 RMS and every other e-mail I get about it is related to "Can I run 500-600 watts DAILY?!" that tells me something... so I started a new design in response to what customers want from an 8 inch woofer.

maybe an spl version 8 to complement the x8 so you don't have to discontinue anymore subs?

They will be more expensive... I would guess, based on my current cost estimates, more like $139 MSRP vs. $99 MSRP of the E8s.
Cast frame, bigger coil, larger motor, etc.

That's very interesting. I've been looking for a 8" sub and nothing I've tested really did the trick. Any idea as to the driver's approximate weight, enclosure requirements, and its sensitivity? TIA

lol i was just bout to say..Now your gonna get emails asking if they can run 800 watts to it daily. Itll never stop but glad your making this...i always looked at the other 8s becuz of the wattage when i was interested might have to check these out.

What kind of mounting depth will these have, and with 1.2 cubic feet, should I port 2 or seal with 3 (not wide enough for 4 I don't think).

It's not done - we are working on it.
400 RMS 8" woofer.

We discontinued the E8 since everyone wanted to run double the rated power and designed this to handle that... it has a 2.5" coil and a cast frame as well.
