Sundown vs Hifonics

Hey it's been a while since i was here.

I'd like to get your opinions and advice.

I have a pair of Alpine Type R 12's Dual 2 and wanna get an amp to power the two.

My options are the

Sundown SAZ 1500D

Atomic 1600.1D

Hifonics BXI 1606D

Now i know the Hifonics is much cheaper, but this would suit my budget nicely. Is it a good amp?...over rated?

Also, the Atomic is cheaper than the sundown, i heard they use the same boards and same build factory - is this true?

Thanks

Same board and factory do not mean much in the big picture.

Sundown is the choice from your list.
This is very interesting, one of my friends bought an Atomic and we were arguing about the amp. He said it's more or less a sundown for less money. I told him i trust Sundown. It has nice reviews and actualy in car testing gives it it's own rep.

I can't find one review online for the Atomics

Just because the board is the same, it does not mean the parts that are on it are. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Nor the quality of the heat sink either. Hint Hint. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

All I can honestly say is...I owned a Bxi1606D and competed w/ it for 1 season. I was running it @ 1 ohm to (2) TC9 12" and never had a problem w/ it. I wasn't running w/ the big boys...a 147.3db on a TL in Street B, but the amp was good for me.

Hifonics generally dont put out much power at four ohms...

Especially the brutus series, which I wouldn't run at anything other than one ohm personally. I did have my 1205 @ 2 ohm, but thats only when i was running one sub.

I've never had a problem w/ my hifonics, so if your looking for a budget amp, I'd go with that.

Can you elaborate?
