Sundown v.2?

I was just about to pull the trigger on a Sundown x12 when I noticed another seller with v.2.

Which one would you want? One states 1250 RMS and the v2 says 1500RMS.

I have a 1000w Alpine amp (M1005)

Not sure now. Any help is appreciated.

ya its an Alpine m1005 with 1000w RMS. It has powered an Alpine type X 12 and I loved it. Sold that woofer (regretfully). I bought 2 Kicker 8" L7's for space saving bass, and have been bumpin those for about 7 years. They are good, but not anything close to that type X 12". I want more like that. I built the ported box for the type X and also built the dual sealed enclosure for the L7's. Now that my boy's are old enough to not need a stroller, I am willing to give up some space for some BASS again!

The 2nd version has 1 less spider than the 1st version and will play notes better than the 1st version....meaning some people on here dind't like the sound of the 1st version but liked the 2nd better. More towards a traditional sub than a low end monster.

Also the surround is not the mega one, rather less and a tapered one.

Hmm. Well if you bought the v1, you can always sell it and buy the v2.

OR....buy both. Try one each for awhile then switch over to one you like best.

The v2 enclosure recomendations are the same as the v1

ya they're both 449 plus tax. free shipping. From the same seller on Ebay. On Amazon, there is only 1 and it doesnt state rev.2 so Im assuming v1

Do you still have those 8s? Port them in 1.5 cubes per. That's the good kicker. Those will stomp those 12s.

Yes. Stillwater kicker. Old school L7s. You killed them sealed and I bet it's to small. Need airspace of round 10s.

Can't hurt. Go 3-3.5 net for the pair. 15sq ft per cube port area. Tune at 35. Go 3.5 if you can.

To be honest, I think this is what this is all about. Just wanting to get building again. Honestly, these are the best sounding pair of 8's Iv ever heard. Not that I have much to compare them to but to say I 'killed them sealed' is, in my opinion, wrong. These things have impressed many a enthusiast.
