Sundown 18s need second thoughts

What's up guys Im hoping you guys can help me decide on what sub or subs would be loudest in my situation. I currently have a Sundown 3500d v2 powering 2 sa 12s at 2 ohms. I have a stinger sp 1200 in front and a xs power 2700d in the back. Plus a 250 mechman alt. i decided its time for me to upgrade my subs. I'm stuck between 2 X's 18 for $600 on Craigslist, 2 zv4 18s rev 2 new. Or a single nightshade v3. Is it worth it spend a grand more on the zv4s or is the difference not worth that much more. Which set up will be the loudest. I don't mind spending the extra cash IF there is a big difference. I drive a 2006 Chevy trailblazer. Id really appreciate it if you let me know what set up you think would be the loudest. All subs would be wired at 1 ohm and have their custom made box. Thanks.

the 2 x 18s will be the loudest, unless you get 2 zv4 18s then those will get louder. you have an suv, so you definitely have the space

A 150 is doable. My buddy had a trailblazer and would do 150db on music with 2 18s and a dc 3.5k.

Did a 146 with one zv4 in my suv. Great sub and sounds clean

Now I'm slightly leaning on saving up my pennies and buying the zv4s

My first box was specs from sundown 5 net tuned 32. The box it's in now is 7.2, 2-6 inch aero ports tuned at 30.

For just a nice daily on that power the X18's should do very well and will probably do pretty well on the meter in the right setup, if you are chasing numbers or plan on maybe adding more power in the future, I would recommend the Zv.3/or Zv.4

Sundown says Zv4 are for daily low fq applications. Not designed for burps or getting loud at higher fq. Are you just looking for numbers? If not, what kind of music do you listen to?

oh yeah you will surpass 150 with those 2 18s. if the box is done right and u got some good electric u will be good. especially in a small suv like a trailblazer its gna get loud

Not as easy as u might think. With only 3.5k it will take some work to get to a 150db.

Those will do fine for that, I' sure, but expensive. You may want to upgrade the amp after that, too. Gonna be more money!
