SUNDOWN SD 8's or 10's

I have a Tundra Crewmax and am going to be installing subs very soon

I am trying to decide between installing (4) Sundown 8's in a .33 cu ft per sub sealed box

or (2) SD-10's in a sealed or ported box

Any suggestions?

I have not picked up the amp but it is more than likely going to be a rockford power 1000.1 or 1500.1

thanks

I'd rather have two ported tens that 4 sealed 8's. The two tens might be at a slight disadvantage to the 8's in over all cone area, but the fact that the back wave of the 8's is going to be trapped in the box makes me think the two ported 10's would be louder. I don't see how you have the space to do two ported 10's and not 4 ported 8's thought...

Here is the box for the eights - with the 4 eights I can fit in an amp rack - the 10's I will need to mount amps under seat
Why wont it let me attach a link? WTF
I'd definitely sacrifice the amp rack to run the 8's ported. Amp racks are nice, but aren't necessary, neither is porting, but I'd rather be loud than look nice.

regardless, the biggest box I can fit is 2 cu ft total, with a 5" max mounting depth. So go with the (4) SD 8's or go two SD 10's
with that kind of space, I'd say go with two 8's ported. Here's my reasoning, you need AT MINIMUM 1 cube per 10" woofer ported, and you only have 2ft^3 so your port is going to eat at least .4-.6ft^3, so your 10's will be seeing >1ft^3 each which is no good. You could get away with 4 sealed 8s, but you'd be just as loud with 2 ported 8's and you'd see better results on low notes with a ported enclosure.

Looks like I could get (3) 8's to fit in a ported box as well, its gotta be better than 2

So -

2 8's ported

3 8's ported

4 8's sealed

2 10's ported, tech12volts makes a really nice box, prebuilt for the tundra crewmax

So -

2 8's ported - YES, you have just enough airspace to properly enclose and port two 8" drivers

3 8's ported - NO, your port would take up at least 0.5ft^3 and that leaves you with 1.5ft^3 and that's really skimping on airspace for those 8's

4 8's sealed - YES, you can do this too, it would be twice as expensive for no real gain over 2 ported 8's

2 10's ported, tech12volts makes a really nice box, prebuilt for the tundra crewmax - MAYBE, I can't see the link because I'm at work, but if the box is under 2.5ft^3 total then it's probably no big enough
see the red text, I would strongly suggest just going with the two 8's ported

Thanks T.I.K - I will have to definitly sleep on this one.
I'd sleep on the two-ported-eights side of the bed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif haha

Two ported 8s would be my suggestion... Unless you wanna hit more lows
What else could he run that would hit lower? he doesn't have enough space for two tens.
