good, cuz it sure sounds like it. the gp3000s are one of the most cost effective amps out right now considering the amount of power they produce. why dont you buy one.
i am waitin on a amp from there division i guess u would say maxxsonics? is that right. im getting a hifonics XXV Thor and gonna try 16v if i dont fry the truck first i have a lot of reading b4 i set the external voltage reg.

because when it breaks I dont wanna be without a amp for over a month...

that is true. ive still been waiting on AB for almost 4 months now. maybe i should just ****in try sundown....i hate doin what everyone else does though...

the whole purpose of the new crunch gp pro amps was to improve their image and make amps that were cost effective.

while I don't like maxxsonics all that much, the amps are solid from what I have seen, they seem to be pretty underrated. and on par with efficiency for similarly rated amplifiers.

honestly all the hate i see in this thread is based on ignorance and bias imo. which is no shocker.

when it comes down to it, I would take a GP 3000.1 over a 3000D. The prices are better, obviously because maxxsonics is a bigger company they can do that.

but ofcourse it is easier to get an amp back from sundown, it's a smaller company.

edit: thats my 2 cents

i know im late and its page 6 already

from what i recall the sundowns are zenon boards i think, and the crunches are maxxisonics boards. the gp3000d-pro is pretty much a colossus but newer and better components. something like that

They're not the same amp. It's obvious there different boards and different set ups. They're both good amps for the price and seem you will get extra power with the sundown.

So to sum it up, not the same but both good amps and good companies. End of story.

Can't really tell anything important by seeing a picture of the internals of an amp unless you've got a really high res. picture and can read all the part numbers and know a shit load about EE and these components.

size != quality

I agree to!!! both are good amps dont get me wrong, and i had the SAZ-3000Ds cusin the 2007 Atomic 3000.1 there exact same amp, just different name, and that amp was killer, but test vrs. test, the GP3000 takes it!!!Cant deny that!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
The tests are not comparable as they were not done in the same setups.

Try these:

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9952

3237 watts @ 14.4v dropping to 10.75 Volts / 1.33 ohms

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12103&hl=Sundown

3712 watts on BatCap 8400 / 0.95 ohms

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7900

5196 watts @ 16.5v dropping to 14.5 v / 0.87 ohms

In any event... unless you test them in the same setup it's difficult to compare apples to apples on these clamp tests.

As for the rest of the thread... I kind of stopped reading... the SAZ-3000D is not the same as the Crunch amp. How anyone can make that connection is beyond me. I suppose that is why I don't read SMD. The board layouts are CLEARLY different and I have internal shots posted for easy access on the site.

PS: The Crunch amp does represent a good value in watts per dollar. I have no idea how reliable they are but I do know the SAZ-3000D has proven quite reliable and is only getting more-so with the new heat-sink design and other tweaks I have planned for it down the line.

Haha, I only give advice over there for this same reason. Not ask for it.

WoW, Sorry everyone. When I started this topic I really just wanted to know if it was true, I was not trying to start a war or anything. I did not think it was true and I'm pretty sure that has been proven here. I prefer to buy the Sundown even though I'm more on a Crunch budget. I think both amps do better then advertised but I think Sundown wins when it comes to personal customer service. I'm 99% sure I will end up with both amps (seeing as how I need two) and we will see which one lasts longer, and if one fails we will see how hard/easy it is to get it repaired and back in a timely matter. It will only take me one time of having to wait a month or more to get my amp back for me to be done with that company.. especially if it takes much longer like some of you have stated about the Maxxonics products.. I will not do power testing seeing as how that has been done already to both amps, but I just might have the car mic'd with each amp and see if there is a noticeable difference.. Thanks everyone for participating..you may now return to your regularly scheduled blah blah blah...

Sounds like fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know with a new product from Sundown I pretty much get a replacement out within 1-2 days after receiving the unit for customers under "new" warranty. So people can pretty well count on transit time to me x 2 ways + 1-2 days to look it over and make sure it's warranty covered (I cover most anything that isn't ridiculous). Unless someone is on the west coast it is under 2 weeks -- west coast is about 5-days each way transit so turnaround is about 2 weeks flat.

Chris @ dB-R can fix an amp quickly under his refurbished warranty as well (he handles the warranty on refurbished amps that he sells), I imagine it won't take very long through him either. I know whenever I send anything to him it turns around quickly.

Jacob, I am sorry you have to keep putting up with topics like this. But anyway, the performance, customer service, and reliability of Sundown cannot be denied by the idiots or the haters.

The mistake in this thread was identified in the first post. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
