sundown sa 12 standard same as sa ultra???

I bought ons sa 12 from Amazon in October 2014. Last week i bought a second sa 12 but from an audio store. As i was looking at them i noticed that the news magnet is round at the top. I did some research online and i think i have one standard sa and one ultra. I have them in a dual box right now and they sound great but is it ok to have slightly different subs in the same box or am i going to have to cut my losses and buy another sub that is an exact match. If i have to buy another one should i go with the standard or ultra. All help is appreciated. Thanks

Ultras never made it to production and never will. The only ultras out there failed sundowns qc process. The regular sa's were revised at some point but i'm not sure what the differences are. I do know the old ones had black top and bottom plates and newer have chrome.

The Ultra motor/magnet is a good bit bigger---you do not have a ultra.

Then if its not an ultra is it possible that it could be a replica of a sundown sa 12. I paid 200 for it in a car audio store that seemed legit but you never know i guess... is there any way to tell??? And the magnet is silver just like the one i got from Amazon... only difference is the magnet is rounded at the top... thanks for the replys

I just went on sundown audios website and searched up Sacramento CA and it turns out Arden Audio is an authorized sundown dealer.

Some SA series have a beveled top plate & some do not -- this is normal; just depends on when they were made.

PS : It makes zero performance difference. Purely cosmetic.
