Sundown SA-12 power rating

I was wondering the same I'm new to Sundown but I just picked up a 1500d v.2 and I was curious if I should run it at 2 ohm 800w or 1ohm 1500w. mostly dubstep, trance, and ol skool good rap(not this new crap they pretend is rap lol) Also I listen for about 30 minutes straight on the way to work.

I would exect the 600W rating is a 50hz sine wave for hours. Use your discresion above that. Recones aren't terribly expensive, so you can just go head and beat it til it breaks, recone, then you know how loud and how long it'll hold up for you!

Run it at 1 ohm, and turn the gain down.

Personally, I had mine on a clean and underrated 1200w. It took the power fine for close to a year, and I'm now looking to get another and add more power. I even played a 20hz tone on it full blast, and it didn't get warm. I'd say 1k is a safe recommendation for it though.

Matt had 2 gp3000's strapped to a pair of sa-10's for burping and music and they never failed. Of course they would stink like crap but they took everybit those two amps had to give.. I would not run that daily 1k each is more then enough.
