SUNDOWN problems

Have you checked everything with a DMM? I know you say you have made sure the ground has a good connection to bare metal, but what metal panel are you grounding to? The DMM should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

Worst case scenario, hook it up to the battery directly. If the problem goes away you have a ground issue.

So I got my new RCA's in, and the problem is still there. I figured it would be a ground issue, so I grounded it to the battery, still there. Hoss sugguested that it was possibly because I ran the RCA's next to the power wire, so I just hooked up another set of RCA's across my truck, and the problem still exists. So now I am stumped. The speakers are still making the wining noise and are still popping and shit. And they are smelling really bad....

I had the same problem and it ended up being that the RCA outputs on my CD Player went bad.

did you check all your grounds and all your connections like i suggested? including the ones on your HU.

its definitly a ground loop problem, but if your speakers smell bad, they might be blown. check every connection in the vehicle, make sure the speakers are wired correctly, if possible try a different HU.

If the headunit had a bad ground, then it wouldn't turn on right? I have never had a problem with the headunit ground before. The speakers worked when I had them off HU power. I was thinking maybe something with the crossovers or something.

Why don't you eliminate the headunit variable? Use RCAs from a home audio receiver, ipod, or something that you know sends a clean signal and then see if you still have problems. If you do, then you know for sure that it is not the headunit.

Ok..

Cut the ground off the HU..(With Room To Reground)

See if the HU stays on when grounded thru the Antenna..

If you dont have noise then you need a new ground on the HU..

You can use a >>Power Filter To Clean the Line..

I did this today worked just fine..

If That dose not work..

Sorry bro..

Peace Troy

I had the same problem. I grounded my RCAs to the HU and that took care of the problem. Just wrap wire around the RCA plugs and screw the other end into the HU...should take care of your problem
This fixed the problem, how exactly did you do this to yours?
