Sundown NS-1 v. Incriminator 40.1

Okay so I know obviously the power ratings vary a tad on the two of these amps. Just wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with either or knows anyone who has had experience with either one. Efficiency, heating, etc.

Both amps are very powerful -- the 40.1 is drastically under-rated in power.

I believe in speaking with users of the 40.1 that is does nearly as much power as an NS-1 despite it's much lower official rating.

Inaccurate generalization.

A few users experienced heating under 16v on a small # of amps from the 2nd production; so far I've only seen one case in person of this happening and there was 0 heating on 12v on that unit with an 8-hour test; we are tracking down the cause of the 16v heating on that unit -- this is not the same as "NS-1s run very hot" as a general statement. All other amps functioning normally run quite cool outside of a situation where you would expect any amp to be warm (eg: sitting in 100 degree heat, playing for hours on end, etc)... this includes many other users on 16v.

The 40.1 is a beast. You CAN get more power from it than the NS-1 (probably), but you'd have to run the balls off of it to do so. For a regualar ol' ground pounding daily, the NS-1 is probably a better choice.
