Sundown HELP

I just hooked up my 100.4 today to my door speakers and i think i am having a few problems. First of all the amp gets seriously hot, you cant rest your hand on it for more than a second. Is that normal? The next and last problem is that when the music is really really loud for a period of time, the music will get muffled and almost turn itself down, is this the amp or speakers doing that? is that normal? All i have to do to fix this problem is turn it down and change the song. ANy help with both problems would be greatly appreciated! night!

Neither is normal. Either double check the way it's hooked up or get it checked out.

The front two channels are both at 3 ohms running my orion 6.5 inch comps.

what else do you need to know? i have 0 gauge runnig to a distrobution block, then i have a 4 gauge wire running straight to it. Its mounted underneath my back seat, but i know it was gettin enough air under there because all 4 of my windowns were down and i was going 70 mph. Its dark out now but i will look into it more tomorrow. not happy

doesn't mean it's necessarily getting enough air. But... it shouldn't be that hot

I didnt know you could clip a 4 channel. Someone explain clearly to mean wtf clipping is, and how you PREVENT it! i know thats a noob question but ive never understood it.

#1 -cranking the gain

#2-to low of a ohm load ,

ive never had a problem with my 2 100.4s ,both of mine are bridged ..

So if i lower my gains will it elimate the problem? How do i know that i matched my gain to my pre amp voltage? Is there a way to properly match your gain to your volts?

Also - where did you get this amp from ?
