One of our guys is doing 157 on music, 4 15's and an AB 1100.1

I take it the set up is geared towards spl..?? Or is it daily driver type

Well its gonna be more a sql build, and its going in my daily. Want to use as little space and weight as possible so ill be running 10s. Gonna run 1500-2000 watts, leaning more so towards the 1500 as i have a small civic and 1500 watts is plenty for a civic. Ill look into the psi's and the xfls, never heard much about them. Thanks for the help guys.

I have owned several different Type R setups (12, 12s, 15) and have always been pretty happy with how they sounded/ how loud they got. They seem to require a good amount of power to get loud vs. other subwoofers in the same rms range. I can't speak to the SAs but forum boners are forum boners, you probably can't go wrong there. It comes down to how much you want to pay also. The 2012 Type Rs are very modestly priced vs. the other options you listed, but at 1krms will probably need a lot of power to really shine. With your power, I'd look at the older Type Rs vs. the other options. They can be had very cheap these days, if budget is a concern of yours.

hey i sort of have the same question. i have 2 kicker cvrs in a sealed box right now and dont know what to choose from between the 2012 type r or dc lvl2 i cant go any bigger because of limited space.

I didn't have the 2012 type R, but my switch from the 15 Type R to the SA-15 definitely was a good one on ~900w.

Just like he said.. Get the SA, you will not be disappointed
