Sundown Amp Not Working

hey, I'm having an issue with my sundown SAE1000D. It simply not turning on. When I test the power terminal with the volt meter its only showing 3.3 whereas if I pull the power wire out of the terminal and test it, its shows anywhere between 12 and 13. I really dont know what it could be, any ideas? ... blown amp? any possible solutions?

no its not, i bought it used off here, it was working fine and then it turned off a while back, it was just waaayyy too cold to look at. So I left it, and every once in a while like every 2-3 weeks it would randomly turn on and then go out a few minutes later

Thanks for the replies... fuses dont look blown, the wire is not loose either, but I will double check the remote wire again, and just replace the fuses just incase, anything else I should check while im at it

check your ground.. maybe it came loose and is vibrating.. causing the circuit to open/close..

^^ my othe amp is grounded at the same place, it doesnt seem to be an issue with the ground.

But would it make sense for it to be reading fine when I pull out the wire, but as soon as it touches terminal even if i touch the volt meter leads directly to the wire it drops down

Maybe a power wire is grounding out inside of your amp?

I had this exact problem,

I absolutely had no problems with my ground then all of a sudden, bam, nothing works, I tried everything except my ground(i thought since it worked before, why would it just stop?). I finally sanded the paint away from my ground and BAM! BINGO!

I read the wires with a meter and they all ready 12 volts until I tried to turn the amp on....then they dropped straight to 3 volts and wouldn't work.

I know u other amp is working fine, however, don't underestimate those tricky bastards..

SAND THE PAINT AWAY FROM GROUND AND TRY AGAIN.

GL,

Bass
