Sundown 125.2 or 50.4

What do you guys suggest to run a set of CTX65CS?

The 125.2 or the 50.4 bridged to give the comps 160 per side?

Would there be any real difference between the two sound wise other than the small bump up in RMS wattage?

Also, any other amp suggestions would be appreciated. Only willing to buy used if I can pick up locally in the bay area however //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

If you are powering four speakers, get the 4 ch amp. Running the four on a 2 ch and bridging will result in the inability to control your front to rear fade.

he said one set //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

50.4 if you can afford it, always better to have too much power

My bad. I took the "set" to mean four. I always refer to two as a pair. Anyway, still say get the 4ch...... bridge 'em and then adjust your amp accordingly. Much rather have more power than you need and turn it down than be underpowered and trying to crank every watt out of it.

Thanks for the replies guys, I figured the 50.4 would be the best way to go especially since brand new both amps are the same price right now through the Sundown sale.

Oh and btw WOT, I'm pretty sure bridging two of those foam fingers would just give me a clipped signal and burn my VC's the way the Sharks have been playing in the play offs the last 2 years //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Why not get a better SQ amp to power your speakers? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

But if you like Sundown that's cool. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Well, I'm open to suggestions for what a good SQ amp would be.

From what I've read most people can't tell a huge difference "SQ" wise between amps that put out clean power. And from what a lot of forums say (ie. not just here at CA), SD amps will put out clean, rated power and I won't be driving the amp into clipping trying to get the amount of power I'd be expecting from the amp.

amps are very very different, and with a decent system at and near its limits yes you can... the biggest problem i have with my 100.4 is noise.. its something the average person wouldn't notice. other than that its a great amp... honestly for a better amp than the 100.4 your going to pay 600+.. im happy with it, im getting another set of es6s and drt26s so i need 225x4@2ohm min... my problem is finding something under 700 thats proven.. dd s4a looks nice as the new SS ref...zapco seems to be nice but there overpriced... looking like i might get the arc 3 way xover with something else...
