Alright so my car is a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis (Trunk Car) as you can see from my sig I have 2 RE SR 10's wired to 1 ohm and power by a Sundown SAE-1000D

Well it was alright to begin with but this summer Im planning on a redo.

Price Range is ~$1200 (Sub Amp, Sub, Battery?, Wood)

I can build my own box so that isn't a problem for cutting into the budget.

Im thinking making a False Floor box (Subs up, Port up) but I heard that Port back is good for trunk cars (never heard much about Port up.)

I have room for 42" Wide x 25" Deep x 16" Tall or after wood displacement (no port disp) about ~7.25 Cubes

25" Deep puts the box within inches of the rear of the trunk, how much room should I allow for the port to "breathe" if I do go with Port Back?

Amps: Sundown 3000d or 3500d or Others?

Battery: Kinetik HC1800

Subs: 2x AA Havoc 15s, 2x FI BTL 15s, 4x RE SX 12s, Others?

Anything else I forgot?

1200 budget for a sundown 3000d and 2 btls plus a battery? Uh no....maybe 1600..

edit:eek:r any of the sub options...

Yeah I talked with a friend now Im think AQ SDC2.5 (2x 15s) or HDC3 (1x 18) and a AQ2200D along with a Kinetik HC2400

You could do the 8" as a front sub on its own amp and use it to bridge/enhance the gap between your 12" in the rear to the midranges

You may or may not like the sound of just dropping into the stock locations but loading into the glass is definitely going to cause some issues...

How I would approach it is install your new amplifier and start using it. Install a voltage gauge and if you see your voltage lowering then add...
