Hello all I am new to this forum.

I have just purchased a new 2010 vw new beetle. I want to put a system into the car. It has been a very long time since i have fooled with car audio.

I do know this

1-I do not want to change the factory radio in the car. It just makes the whole dashboard look right

2- I listen to rock and rap music so I do not want a bass only system where everything is just bass

3- The trunk is really small so i think i am limited

can someone suggest a good system and what components i should use

Get yourself a pair of nice components, a subwoofer that'll do well in a sealed enclosure and a big 4 channel amp to power everything. Something like this.

If you want to leave the stock cd player in the car you'll have to buy yourself a good line output converter. A JL Audio Cleansweep or Rockford Fosgate 3Sixty.2 would be nice too...

My gf has a 02 new beatle and I put 2 12s in it and she still has room for groceries. (Maybe not $200 worth but plenty room for the 2 of us)

So u wanna get loud but still sound decent? Or u want sound quality while getting loud?

Also what is your budget?

Fi ssd, dc lvl 3, lvl 4, ssa icon, will get loud and sound decennt.

Fi q series, idmax, idq, ssa dcon all have great sq while getting loud.

Only if you start 25 threads about which sub you should buy. After that you can act as if you have first hand experience with everything that has been suggested to you. Only then can you truly be an expert.

I think i am going to go with a box with 2 jl 10's and a nice amp

then i got to work on changing the car speakers right??

cause they wont handle being amped

how does this sound
