I am in the process of purchasing a newer car and want to put a good sounding system in it. Budget for equipment is about $2,000 and so far this is what I have come up with:
HU: Alpine DVA-9860 ~ $400
Processor: Alpine PXA-H701 ~ $350
Amp: MB Quart QAA4250 ~ $400 (2 X 250, 1 X 500)
Front Stage: MB Quart QSD 216 ~ $450 (Going to be ran passive at first, I will get another amp to go active later on)
Sub: JL Audio 12w6v2 ~ $350
Total ~ $1,950
I know it will sound as good as the weakest link, so is this setup well balanced? I listen to mostly rap, but some rock on occasions. I do not like tons of bass, but I do like mid bass. The car I am looking at is most likely going to be a Pathfinder, but maybe a clk 430. I will be getting the gear online or
eBay. For speakers I am not sure because I have not heard the qsd’s, but am looking for a similar price range. I guess budgets are made to be broken. Anyways, all suggestions are appreciated.
